Policy on endogeny
Journal of Spinoza Studies is committed to minimizing endogeny and to preserving editorial independence. Submissions authored or co-authored by the Editors-in-Chief, members of the Scientific Committee, guest editors, or reviewers are not given preferential treatment and are subject to the same standards of assessment as all other submissions.
When such submissions are considered, the author is excluded from all editorial handling, reviewer selection, discussion, and decision-making concerning the manuscript. An independent editor, or another suitable member of the editorial structure with no conflict of interest, manages the review process.
The journal monitors the proportion of published research articles authored or co-authored by editors, Scientific Committee members, guest editors, or reviewers. This proportion must not exceed 25% in either of the two most recent issues. Where relevant, the same principle applies to special issues and themed sections.
